Omlandia – Dutch Restaurant in Medan, Indonesia

Superskinbaby here ♥ I am sharing you my experience in Omlandia Restaurant, which is a must-try restaurant if you ever visit Medan! I did not find many reviews of this restaurant, so I hope this can help!

Omlandia Restaurant
Jalan Raya Namorambe No. 129
20356 Medan, Indonesia
Tel:  +62 61 7032964

Why should you visit Omlandia Restaurant? They offers Dutch, western, and Indonesian cuisines and has super pretty views. There is a hotel in one complex, which is Deli River Hotel, so they have a swimming pool as well. They say that the ingredients are fresh and some are planted and harvested in their own gardens ♥ The location is slightly far from the heart of the city, but it is closer to Berastagi than it is from the center of Medan.

Click on the slideshow for the complete menu with price! They have many snack, appetizers, main course and drink menus. We ordered: Poffertjes (Dutch Mini Pancakes), Bitterballen, Apple Pie, Coffee with Ginseng and Black Coffee.

Bitterballen (IDR 35K) are a Dutch meat-based snack, typically containing a mixture of beef or veal, beef broth, butter, flour for thickening, parsley, salt and pepper, resulting in a thick roux. We ordered Bitterballen with chicken filling. They are like croquettes, the inside are mushy and they taste good!

Coffee (IDR 19K) comes in a cup, creamer and sugar.

Poffertjes (IDR 27K) are a traditional Dutch batter treat. Resembling small, fluffy pancakes, they are made with yeast and buckwheat flour. They have a light, spongy texture. They are served with powdered sugar and butter. They can be shared with two people. The taste itself is very similar to pancakes, no filling.

Apple pie! (IDR 40K) It is pretty thick, has lots of apple slices inside. The texture was somewhat heavy and densed, tasted sweet. The apple pie did not taste artificial, which I liked! Because I don’t like it when restaurants use a canned apple spread or canned fruits for their dishes, they taste too sweet not fresh.

Coffee with ginseng (IDR 24K). I did not notice the ginseng taste but it’s coffee. Can’t go wrong with coffee.

Omlandia surely has lots of photogenic spots! The above picture was when they tried to dry their menu sheets lol. But I love that corner! Look at that yellow stair and a small little bricked building.

Sorry, I did not take many pictures without myself in it lmao. But I recorded many videos, which you can watch from here (Indonesian with an Eng sub).

See you again in another review ♥
