Review The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%

Hello, superskinbaby here and I am back with another review. This time it is a western brand that has got a lot of popularity and controversy, which is The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%. Coming with its affordable price, is it worth the (former) hype?

Brand : The Ordinary

This formula combines very high concentrations of two of the most powerful and important antioxidants in skincare: Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid. This formula does not contain any water, silicones, oils or alcohol. Water can impair the stability of any antioxidant. Do not refrigerate.

INGREDIENTS

Propanediol, Resveratrol, Ferulic Acid.

I received a birthday gift from my friend Flotatoskin almost ten bottles of The Ordinary last year! I still have not used all of them but I remembered reading about this serum somewhere and noticed I hadn’t had it in my stash, so I went ahead and purchased The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% myself. This is advertised as a powerful antioxidant, which is almost like EUK 134 0.1% but EUK is a self-regenerating molecule that works around the clock.

I know the brand has recently caused a lot of controversy, but I got my items long before the drama started, and I still like reviewing items. For those who are still interested in the brand, this review might be informative for you about how it works in my case.

When I first opened the product, I remember that it had almost no scent at all. When applied on the skin, this serum causes a warm feeling, I don’t know why as it was never stated on the Official Website. I used it several times and found the warmth a bit bothering. The texture is like an oil-ampoule, and the color is transparent with a slight yellowish color. The liquid is not easily absorbed by my skin, as it is almost similar to an oil. I did not like using it in my routine and avoided it for several months.

Several months later, I opened the bottle and found a very strong, unappealing smell. I don’t remember it ever having such a pungent odor. It smells something like there is something wrong going with the formula. I think it has gone bad? I daringly tried to use it on my face and it caused the same warm feeling, a rise of temperature of my skin. Do not like.

Any other effect? Not that I can notice. I still got pimples sometimes, and my skin did not look smoother or healthier looking when I was using it. Overall, not recommended.
